Rachael has experience in business consulting, defense, security, and international trade. In addition to the Career Lunch, Rachael has offered to meet one-on-one with students who are interested in any of the following career paths:

Here’s her bio:

Rachael Lammers is a Principal at McChrystal Group and the Chief of Staff for the Leadership Institute. She is responsible for shaping and executing strategy of the rapidly growing McChrystal Group Leadership Institute, which equips leaders to drive adaptability in their organizations.

Rachael is a former civil servant who joined federal service in 2007 as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA). During her tenure at ITA, she served the Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Services Industries before joining the U.S. Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul. In Afghanistan, she dedicated her efforts to creating a business enabling environment through trade and commercial policy reform, trade promotion, and private sector development.

In 2013, Rachael joined the Department of Defense Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO), where she continued her work in Afghanistan leading the Strategic Investment Team, which focused on cultivating viable investment opportunities across Afghanistan and attracting international private sector investors.

With the wind down of TBFSO, Rachael shifted to the commercial sector of contingency operations as Director of Foreign Military Sales and Defense with Aegis Defence Services, Ltd, a leading security and risk management company. Rachel worked with Aegis’ commercial defense clients to achieve mission success in complex markets by leveraging a suite of integrated security solutions that are designed specific to the client, activity and environment.

Before joining McChrystal Group, Rachael developed a consultancy business delivering advisory, business development and growth strategy services to multiple small and medium sized enterprises and industry associations.

Rachael received her Master of Science degree from the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgia State University.
