Development Internship, Metropolitan Policy Program, The Brookings Institution – Washington, DC

This summer internship, beginning in June 2018, is a paid opportunity for undergraduate students in their junior year or senior year, recent college graduates or graduate students with an interest in Development (fundraising). The internship will provide candidates with an opportunity to contribute to the work of the world’s leading think tank.

This internship pays an hourly rate of $13.25, and applicants must be willing to commit to a minimum number of hours per week (no less than 24 hours per week, during regular business hours), with some flexibility around an academic course schedule. The internship is based in Washington, DC and will last approximately 10 weeks.

The intern will assist in conducting research and writing to assist the Metropolitan Policy Development team with corporate and individual fundraising activities, including grant reports and proposals, prospect research, meeting briefings, event planning, stewardship plans, print collateral, and other donor-related communications and outreach.
Interns will have the opportunity to attend internal meetings, local think tank events, professional development workshops, and public Brookings events as well as participate on Brookings sports teams and network with other interns throughout the Institution.

Education/Knowledge/Skills
Graduate or undergraduate student (who has completed their sophomore year) working towards a degree in international affairs, public policy, urban policy, communications, journalism, fund-raising certificate program or related fields.

Successful completion of a background investigation is required for interning at Brookings.
