Atlantic Expedition Fellowship on German-American Relations

Fellowship opportunity: Help modernize transatlantic relations while traveling to Chicago, Houston and Berlin! http://atlantic-expedition.org

The Atlantische Initiative has launched the “Atlantic Expedition”, a fellowship designed to bring together the leaders of tomorrow and to revive interest in the transatlantic partnership, by better harnessing the diversity of backgrounds, and therefore perspectives, that exists across the Atlantic today.

Participants in this program don’t have to be experts in German-American relations! We consider fresh perspectives and new ideas as crucial to reversing the trend of declining enthusiasm for the partnership. Transatlantic matters affect everyone, and ought therefore to be discussed by everyone.

The fellowship is open to US and German citizens between 20 and 35 years of age. Applicants need only submit a short article (max 1000 words), a one-page CV and a very brief statement of motivation. The deadline is June 18, 2017. Please find more information in our Call for Applications.

30 fellows will be selected to network, debate and collaborate with their peers and political decision-makers, opinion-leaders and stakeholders from a variety of business sectors and interest groups in Chicago and Houston in October 2017. The fellows will co-author an Atlantic Action Plan, drawing upon their diverse range of skills, interests and experiences. The 15 best fellows will be invited to present the Action Plan during a five-day basecamp in Berlin in spring 2018.
