Center for Complex Operations Summer Internship Opportunities

“Interns assist with CCO’s research and technical operations, attend conferences and develop personal academic interests. Responsibilities include research assistance (library and internet), conference coordination, administrative support, editorial and publication assistance, and database development. Interns must be able to work independently and multi-task effectively with minimal supervision.

During the summer, interns generally work on a full-time basis, but allowances are made if the individual has summer courses or other related requirements; such considerations will be made based on a mutual agreement. All positions are unpaid. CCO does not offer assistance with relocation and living expenses. Place of work is the National Defense University located on Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, DC, with occasional requirements to work at other sites within the Washington, DC area.

Eligibility

Internships are available for current graduate (to include doctoral students) and undergraduate students with at least a 3.0 GPA from an accredited U.S. university or college, and eligible to work in the United States. Applicants must have strong research and writing skills, be detail-oriented, and possess computer skills, to include familiarity with MS Office. CCO seeks interns from diverse academic backgrounds, including those in the fields of International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, International Development, Conflict Resolution, and Journalism. Those with prior field or military experience are encouraged to apply.  Due to security requirements only US Citizens will be accepted.
