The position will assist in the development and implementation of marketing and public relations strategies. This will be accomplished through developing, maintaining and expanding Harvest Rain’s marketing channels/methodologies. This position is most suitable for a self-starter with a very creative work style who thrives on design. It will support in researching and cultivating supporters and volunteers. This includes creating and managing donor data, tracking fundraising efforts and supporting event logistics related to the 2017 fundraising campaign. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated individual to develop skills in nonprofit development work.

Responsibilities:

–Organize a marketing calendar, create content for outreach/program, fundraising and event advertising including organizing cross-platform content strategies; drafting and editing copy for social channels

–Research and create new audiences, including electronic and snail mailing lists

–Collect ‘heart stings’ stories to share with key stakeholders and the community at large

–Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events; provide logistical support in event management like vendors, event timeline, day-of support and other duties

–Research, develop and maintain lists of potential volunteer groups and individuals; Assist with volunteer recruitment, recognition and training

Eligibility Requirements:

–3.0 or greater GPA and can commit to 8-10 hours per week; willing to travel on site and work remotely when projects allow

–Must be an undergraduate junior orsenior or enrolled in a graduate program

–Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.

–Good analytical skills
