Internship Description

“We are seeking a dynamic, tech enthusiast, and self-starting individual to join the business strategy group in our Princeton, NJ office for a paid summer internship. In this role, you will help Mathematica expand business development opportunities beyond the organization’s existing portfolio of projects.

As a Business Development intern you will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage in proactive business development by interfacing with leading health and technology companies, federal and state government policy makers, and major foundations and philanthropic donors.
  • Conduct active outreach to potential partners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate on business development materials such as prices sheets and marketing materials.
  • Utilize principles of social science research methods to design innovative studies which leverage technology.
  • Participate in meetings with senior management and leading scholars in the social policy research field.

Responsibilities for Business Development intern include:

  • Assisting with contact database maintenance.
  • Drafting correspondence, assembling presentation materials, recording notes for meetings, and documenting findings in One Note.
  • Conducting independent research on topics related to strategic goals including new technologies, tracking congressional bills, venture firms with health and fitness portfolios, and advents in social policy and behavioral research regarding concussions, telemedicine, and wearables.

Qualifications of successful candidates include:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s-level training program in business, social science, IT or related field.  If in an undergraduate program, must be entering junior or senior year of program.
  • Exposure to social science research methods and design and a passion for technology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and eager to develop novel markets.
  • Awareness of current trends in mobile, AI, wearables, and or telemedicine is a plus.
