Summer 2017 New Zealand Labour Party Campaign Fellowship

The Labour Party Campaign Fellowship is a unique opportunity to witness how democracy functions firsthand. The fellowship is based in Auckland, which is New Zealand’s largest and most diverse city. All fellows will report to the organising staff. Daily tasks include: leading phonebanks, coordinating volunteer schedules, leading trainings, organising doorknocking groups, attending local Auckland political events, and assisting the organisers with daily office functions. This is a great opportunity to assist the organisers in leading a team of local activists and to learn about the on-the-ground political climate in New Zealand.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to commit to 30-40 hours a week
  • Willingness to learn about campaign ground-game and to eventually lead phonebanks, doorknocks, and volunteer recruitment efforts.
  • Experience volunteering on a campaign is a plus

This position is unpaid, but college credit is possible. To apply, please send your resume and a brief cover letter to caitlin.johnson@labour.org.nz.
