Liam Rattray, Georgia Tech (PUBP) Graduate Dies in Tragic Accident

On Monday night, recent Georgia Tech graduate Liam Rattray was thrown from his motorcycle and killed after hit by a drunk driver. He graduated barely two weeks ago from Georgia Tech with a BS in Public Policy. He was known as a passionate individual who advocated and worked towards efforts for sustainability.

The loss of Liam is not only felt by the Georgia Tech community, but by the world as well. In his short time at Georgia Tech, his accomplishments were great: managing the East Atlanta Farmers’ Market, participating in protests, working on a renewable-energy project, and campaigning for sustainability.

The School of Public Policy has posted on their blog (You can see here) and encourages you to offer your condolences and thoughts to the family. These comments will be collected and shared with the family.

The service is being planned, but will be held at a cemetary in Conyers on Saturday. The family is also planning an open house for Saturday afternoon, around 4-7 pm, at the Rattray’s home. The IAC encourages you to check back with the School of Public Policy for any updates.
