The School of Russian and Asian Studies (SRAS) is a team of consultants and advisers dedicated to education and educational opportunities offered by Russia and Eurasia. The SRAS team has studied within the Russian educational system and worked closely with institutions for many years to identify and develop programs of interest and value to international students. Crossroads of Empires: Central Europe and the Balance of Power. (http://www.sras.org/crossroads) – SUMMER PROGRAM

This one-month program will look at Central Europe as a case study for better understanding Security Studies in general. With a focus on Germany, Russia, Poland, and the Baltic States, this innovative multi-disciplinary course will combine lectures, culinary and cultural excursions, and guest speakers including academics, diplomats, journalists, and government officials. Classes will travel to Berlin, Gdansk, and Krakow to give the student a broad understanding of this unique region and its importance. The course will be directed by Alexandra Richie, author of Faust’s Metropolis – A History of Berlin and Warsaw, 1944. It is possible to extend this program with an internship lasting the duration of the summer.

Scholarships ranging from $2500-$7000 are available for students combining Crossroads with additional summer and/or fall study in Kiev/St. Petersburg. Information is available on the Crossroads program description page.

Digitalization has led to innovation in nearly every aspect of society. It has also exposed numerous new risks to the individual and state. Security and Society in the Information Age is a study abroad program that explores both the possibilities and hazards of our new era.
