The United States Meets Germany: A Forum for Young Leaders

The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy and ‘The United States Meets Germany’

The ICD is an international, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization focused on the theoretical and practical promotion of cultural exchange as a tool for improving international relations. Our programs have been developed to support and facilitate intercultural exchange at the grass roots, civil society and political levels in hopes to create a sustainable network.  To learn more about our activities, please visit:

The United States Meets Germany: A Forum for Young Leaders is designed with the intention of bringing together young, influential people from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean in order for them to gain insight into cultural diplomacy, exchange ideas and experiences and learn from influential players already working in the field.  We feel this is especially coming at an important moment in time with the new Obama administration.  We would like to explore the future actions needed to improve current transatlantic relations.  Participants in the forum will develop contacts on both a social and professional level and participate in challenging discussions. The forum will therefore produce a dynamic, informed group of Young Leaders who are aware of the potential for cultural diplomacy and have the necessary resources to organize their own initiatives which will help create a sustainable network upon the completion of the forum.
