Spring 2023: Nunn School Grants for Unpaid Internships and Professional Development – APPLY NOW

The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs is providing a fixed number of grants up to $1000 to support students participating in unpaid internships or attending academic seminars and conferences/workshops during the spring 2023 semester. Unpaid is defined as not receiving a salary or stipend from the employer. Remote/Virtual internships and conferences/workshops are eligible.

Eligibility: You must be an enrolled INTA, IAML, EIA, MSIA, MSISEC, MSIAST, or DRIAST student at the time of application and during the spring 2023 semester.

The deadline to complete the online application for the Spring 2023 Semester is Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

FAQs:

Can I apply for the internship grant if I already have funding?
Unpaid is defined as not receiving a salary or stipend from the employer. If you have a salary or stipend from the employer, you are not eligible to receive funding from the Nunn School grant.

Can I apply for the professional development grant if I already have funding?
If you have funding from the sponsoring organization, you are not eligible to receive funding from the Nunn School grant.

If I have a remote/virtual internship am I eligible for a grant?
Remote/Virtual internships and conferences/workshops offered for spring 2023 are eligible.

How can I enroll during the summer semester if I’ll have an internship?
You must register the internship through the Career Center  (Undergraduate)(Graduate). Be sure to adhere to those instructions and deadlines.

I don’t have an internship offer yet; or, I haven’t registered for a conference/workshop yet, can I still apply?
Yes, you are welcome to apply. You will be required to submit an official offer letter or confirmation of registration/invoice before any grant funds will be disbursed. You will also be responsible for any associated enrollment fees applied to your account before the distribution of grant funds.
