We are now accepting applications for participation in the annual Nunn School Career Visit to Washington, DC. This event will be held on March 3rd and 4th, 2022. The trip will consist of a site visit to a DC area employer in the international affairs field, a briefing at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and an alumni reception*; participants will schedule their informational interviews with alumni to be completed over the weekend in DC. This year’s site visit will be to the Institute of International and Strategic Studies (IISS). The Nunn School will provide a reimbursement of up to $500 to use toward your travel expenses (airfare, lodging, meals) for the trip.
This program is open to all Nunn School Undergraduate and Graduate students (INTA, IAML, EIA, MSIA, MSISEC, MSIAST, PhD IAST majors) as well as declared International Affairs or Global Development Minors regardless of where you are living or working this spring. For those of you who are already in DC for the Spring Semester – although we cannot provide travel funding, we invite you to participate in any or all of these activities.
Here are some examples of what past participants have said about this networking trip:
“The visits to the two organizations were incredibly informative and eye-opening. The visit to iSight Partners was very pertinent to my current studies… and being able to visit CSIS was amazing.” – Steven Hawkins, MSIA 2017
“The DC trip was very rewarding and helpful not only in learning the types of jobs that are available for international affairs but also as a networking tool. I was fortunate to have set up three different informational interviews with alumni while in DC. I spoke with someone from the DOE, iSight partners, and the State Department.”— Leah Allen, MSIA 2017
We hope you will apply for this incredible opportunity!
