Overview: World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a China Foreign Aid Agency Research Intern.
Internship Description: With China’s fast growing foreign aid, including foreign aid for climate and environmental cooperation, and several initiatives being set, a question has come up into many scholars’ minds: compared with many other countries, China has only a small non-independent foreign aid department under Ministry of Commence. Why does China have no higher independent foreign aid agency under its governmental cabinet? To address this question, we are carrying out a study and are now hiring a research intern to assist with this study.
Responsibilities:
•Research on China’s foreign aid situation, to compare with other countries’ foreign agencies;
•Conduct a review on current China’s foreign aid department and its problems;
•Gather information on the question through both interviews and literature reviews;
•Analyze on the trend of China’s official foreign aid agency;
•Develop and finalize a report base the researches under instruction of supervisor;
•Develop presentations, infographics and other collateral if necessary;
•Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:
•Current undergrad or graduate student enrolled in a relevant field such as public policy, sustainable development or international development is preferred;
•Able to work for up to 3 months;
•Excellent research, writing and analytical skills, with keen attention to details;
•Ability to work productively on independent research under supervision;
•Fluency in English and Chinese are required.
Location: Washington, DC
Compensation: Unpaid. For all unpaid internships, applicants must be enrolled in school and be able to obtain academic course credit from their university.
