Position description
The Commerce and Energy Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Washington, D.C. is accepting applications for the following full-time researcher position
– Start Date: August 2014
– Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm
– Most U.S. and Korean national holidays are observed
Responsibilities
– Analyze import/export activities and domestic statistics across major US Industries
– Monitor public and private sector activities in commerce & energy-related issues
– Conduct research and draft reports on policy developments affecting multilateral trade relations
– Attend events and hearings on trade and energy-related issues and produce official reports
– Draft speeches and presentations for diplomatic staff
– Facilitate logistics and meetings between Korean representatives and US government agencies
– Translate English-Korean documents and interpret during conferences
Qualifications
– Must be fluent in Korean and English
– Background in Political Science, Economics, International Business, law, Energy, International Relations, Commerce or related field
– Familiar with US-Korea trade relations
– Must be detail oriented and able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
