Congressman David Scott seeks a Legislative Intern for the fall semester in his Washington, D.C. office. Responsibilities include daily duties such as greeting visitors, opening mail, answering phones, leading constituent tours, running errands, etc. Interns will also assist with legislative research, draft replies to constituent letters, draft memos, maintain press clips, and work on special projects. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to attend committee hearings, policy briefings, and sit in on Congressional meetings.
Prospective interns should be self-starters who possess strong writing skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and express an interest in policy-making and legislation. Georgia ties and interest in the policy areas of agriculture and financial services are a plus, but not required. This internship is unpaid and can be either part-time or full-time. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
