AFSA invites you to our virtual panel “Foreign Service on the Front Lines: Bringing Americans Home” on September 22 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

This event, cohosted with the National Museum of American Diplomacy (NMAD), marks the official launch of AFSA’s First Line of Defense outreach campaign, an effort to reach new audiences and broaden the domestic constituency for our Foreign Service.

The panel will be moderated by Ambassador (ret.) Jimmy Kolker and will feature two active duty Foreign Service members who worked on the front lines to mount a response to the COVID-19 pandemic: Alan Eaton (U.S. Consulate Chengdu) and Kathryn Stevens (COVID-19 Task Force, USAID). The event will be hosted on NMAD’s Diplomacy Classroom platform. We are using this platform to better reach out to students and others who are not familiar with the work of the Foreign Service.

We ask you to also please help us spread the word in your virtual communities about this event. The panel will be open to all who are interested in learning more about the Foreign Service.

Questions? Please email ruzica@afsa.org with any questions regarding this event or the First Line of Defense campaign.
