Global Health Corps Fellow, Knowledge Management Officer, Living Goods – Kampala, Uganda

Role Overview
Living Goods is scaling up rapidly in Uganda. With growth comes the need to continuously work with the government to achieve the greatest possible impact. We believe that building broader coalitions with Ministry of Health and Partners is a key driver of our sustainability. Our partnership with the Ministry of Health and local communities improves access to quality services and curbs preventable child and maternal deaths. We believe that promoting solutions driven by local communities can enrich the quality of health systems and ultimately move Uganda toward its vision of “A Transformed Ugandan Society from a Peasant to a Modern and Prosperous Country within 30 years.”

The Knowledge Management Manager will lead documentation and dissemination efforts of Living Goods Uganda’s work at district and national levels. S/he will be responsible for developing a knowledge management database and key templates for the Community Health Partnerships Department. The Knowledge Management Manager will also find innovative ways to document, share and disseminate best practices and lessons learned from different stages of the implementation process. S/he will report to the Senior Community Health Technical Adviser, Community Health Partnerships.

Responsibilities
– Develop knowledge management templates for Community Health Partnerships Department use
– Develop key resource documents for internal and external use
– Develop a knowledge management database for the Community Health Partnerships Department
– Coordinate National and International webinars to share lessons learned, successes, and case studies
– Edit and revise documents for Community Health Partnerships Department
– Identify key areas to document during pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation phases
– Ensure reports meet donor standards
– Develop dissemination plans for project specific knowledge management activities

Skills and Experience
– Bachelor’s degree*
– Preferred: Master’s degree
– At least one year of experience*
– Experience developing and/or delivering presentations, trainings, or workshops*
– Experience developing documents (e.g. case studies or reports) for a wide range of audiences (policy makers, technical, programmatic, etc)*
– Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to ensure internal and external collaborators achieve a time-bound goal or project*
– Extensive experience in a role with knowledge management responsibilities*
– Database management experience
– Experience using webinar technology, as the webinar host
– Strong attention to detail
– Willingness to travel within Uganda
– Good sense of humor
– Improvement mindset
