Government Affairs Intern: 2019 Legislative Session – Atlanta, GA

GeorgiaLink Public Affairs Group secures and strengthens relationships between the
private sector and government. We draw on our unique mix of experience in politics,
private industry, government and professional associations to steer legislation and
mobilize business and political communities to create opportunities for a diverse
clientele that includes Fortune 500 companies, associations, entrepreneurs,
professional groups and local governments.
Currently, we are offering a learning experience for three internships. The interns will
assist our team in state lobbying efforts at the State Capitol during the 2019 Georgia
Legislative Session.
Positions Available: Three
Position Dates: January 2019 through April 2019
Prerequisites: Junior or senior year status student, or a recent graduate
Preferred Areas of Study: Political Science, Pre-Law, Public Relations,
Communications

Duties & Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the internship is to assist our lobbying team in our lobbying
efforts at the Capitol during the 2019 Legislative Session. Potential tasks associated
with this include, but are not limited to:
 Attend committee hearings and agency meetings and take detailed notes on
legislation or relevant issues
 Event coordination
 Prepare handouts for meetings
 Assist with creation and distribution of electronic information
 Maintain bill tracking website
 Maintain a schedule for established deadlines
 Provide office and administrative support
