JQAS Leadership Conference – July 2019

The John Quincy Adams Society (JQAS) is a nonpartisan, national network of student and professional groups focused on advancing a new generation of national security leaders – women and men who can shape a responsible and restrained foreign policy. Through our campus chapters and our professional network in Washington, we work to help these future leaders grow intellectually and professionally.

As such, JQAS is holding a student leadership conference this summer in Washington, D.C. The conference is built to empower students to drive foreign policy conversations on their campus, deepen leadership skills, and network them with professionals in diverse international affairs careers. We’ll also have an intensive seminar on grand strategy with historian Stephen Wertheim and political scientist Emma Ashford, and we’re planning a trip to Capitol Hill to hear from a bipartisan group of key players on foreign policy, likely with a focus on the momentous recent invocation of the War Powers Resolution.

The conference will be held from the evening of Wednesday, July 17 through the afternoon of Friday, July 19. We will have hotel space and the ability to support travel costs for select participants. More information is available here. Applications must be received by the end of the day Sunday, June 16 to be considered, but we are reviewing applications on a rolling basis, so students should apply as soon as they are able.
