Branch is now accepting applications for their Spring 2021 Policy Intern Program. Founded by GT Alumnus Walter Ley, Branch is a new Atlanta startup that uses the best of product and UX design to make information about Georgia’s elections convenient and digestible. They have a free, nonpartisan website (www.branch.vote) that walks voters through what will be on their ballot so that they can vote locally with confidence.
Branch first launched in Atlanta in May 2020, and they’ve already had explosive growth, with over 30,000 voters visiting their site as a resource. The Branch team is looking to add talented interns to their team for the Spring 2021 semester to continue this growth and provide a valuable service to the Atlanta community.
As a Branch intern, you would have the opportunity to apply your policy background and communication skills within a dynamic tech startup environment. You would be responsible for conducting research related to legislation, candidates, and elections at the federal, state, and local levels of government. You would work collaboratively with our tech team to develop strategies for how to best communicate this research to everyday people. You will learn how to apply modern UX design practices, including usability testing and experimentation, to the field of public policy.
The internship will last for 13 weeks and is unpaid. It will require roughly 20 hours per week. If interested, please email your resume to Walter Ley at walter@branch.chat by November 25th at 5pm.
