The Office of Investigations at the U.S. International Trade Commission seeks student interns to serve as investigative assistants in the conduct of anti-dumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard investigations. All applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a student on at least a half-time schedule at a qualifying educational institution in a certificate, degree, or diploma program, preferably in the field of international trade, international business, or international economics. Applicants seeking undergraduate degrees in international affairs, business, economics, accounting, statistics, or similar fields are preferred. Strong organizational and computer skills, particularly in word processing and spreadsheets, are essential. Duties may involve assisting investigators and financial analysts with the investigations; various administrative and technology-related tasks such as web postings; or assisting with office management.
This is an unpaid position and, if appropriate, may be used for school credit.
In order to be considered for an internship, an applicant must:
• Be a U.S. citizen;
• Be a student at an accredited, four-year university at the time of the internship;
• Enter into a student agreement with the university and the USITC;
• Pass a background investigation.
