Undergraduate Research Conference on European Union, Scripps College – Claremont, CA

April 4-5, 2019

The European Union Center of California announces its 17th annual Claremont-University of California Undergraduate Research Conference on the European Union. This is the oldest and largest academic conference in the United States dedicated to undergraduate research on European Union topics.

The primary purpose of this conference is to enhance undergraduate training in and knowledge of the European Union and US-European relations. In addition, the aim of the conference is to allow students with expertise in different areas to interact with each other as well as with faculty, foster intercampus cooperation, and recognize the excellent work achieved by students.

Having completed individual projects, students from each participating institution and faculty  gather for an interactive conference focusing on European issues and student research. Students will present and discuss their research in a panel format, each panel being composed of three to five students. Each presentation  will be followed by questions and a discussion moderated by a faculty member. The public is welcome to attend these conference sessions.

This conference is hosted by the European Union Center of California, Scripps College. Special thanks go out to our co-sponsors: The Institute of European Studies at the University of California at Berkeley; European Union Center of Excellence at UC Berkeley; Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies at UC Berkeley; BYU Center for the Study of Europe, the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies at BYU, European Union Center of Excellence of Seattle at the University of Washington, and Colorado European Union Center of Excellence at the University of Colorado.
