US State Department Diplomat-in-Residence Info Session

Come for a meet & greet with the new US Department of State Diplomat-in-Residence for the South Region, Ms. Vallera Gibson. This will be her first visit to the Georgia Tech campus.

Gibson is a Management career track officer and has previously served as a Vice Consul and Economic Officer in Haiti (2008-2010), Public Diplomacy Officer in Conakry , Guinea (2010-2012) and Management Officer in Brazzaville, Congo (2013-2015). She began her professional career as an Army officer and worked in the pharmaceutical industry before joining the State Department. Through the diplomat-in-residence program, universities have a direct link to the U.S. State Department as well as other government agencies with an international focus. The diplomat-in-residence also serves as a resource to faculty and students, makes classroom presentations, serves as speaker at international events, and counsels students who plan to take the Foreign Service Examination. The diplomat is also available to talk with students interested in careers with the U.S. Department of State.
