X-Force Summer 2020 Fellowship (Various Locations)

What if the best students you know could be paid to serve our country this summer, using their tech skills, getting real world experience while solving the toughest national security problems?

They can. Summer 2020 applications for X-Force–the Department of Defense’s 2020 technology fellowship are now open. Last summer’s teams of students solved a slew of problems, from wicked hardware/software problems around nuclear explosion detection, created new social media strategies for Special Operators, and developed VR apps for F-15 fighter pilots.

Whether their skills can best help craft a modern social media strategy, solve a web/mobile/app development problem, researching a tech topic of need for military commanders, or rapidly prototyping a hardware solution, X-Force wants them.

Some awesome example projects for THIS summer (part of 50+) are:

  • help the Air Force integrate multiple data sets into a single dashboard to help flight scheduling
  • create the app to end all apps to optimize human performance of Green Berets
  • develop a social media playbook and strategy for PSYOPs
  • design and build better targets to provide real time feedback during live fire exercises

To apply to X-Force they can click here nowWe are offering both full time fellowships (paid by DOD, ~$2,500+/month), located in the vicinity of the military unit (e.g. in the South you’ll likely live in Raleigh-Durham, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta) and also remote unpaid fellowships for students already committed but looking for a chance to serve. The cohort will run from June 1-August 31 with flexibility on the exact start/end date depending on availability.

The final deadline for X-Force Fellows applications is February 29, but STRONG preference is for applicants that apply by January 31. Can you forward this to the best/brightest students you know?
