The Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award (2015) This award is given annually to a junior or senior International Affairs, International Affairs/Modern Language or an Economics/International Affairs major to reward excellence in scholarship, leadership, and community service. Criteria include proficiency in a foreign language and a demonstrated commitment to furthering international cooperation and cross-cultural understanding. The award consists of a check for $250. Safa Arun is a fourth year INTA major, also pursuing a Law, Science & Technology minor. She is most interested in the Middle East and continues to take Arabic since her freshman year of college. Molly Ward is a second-year MSIA student from Lawrenceville, GA. She pursued her undergraduate degree at Georgia State University, where she became heavily involved in domestic politics and eventually became President of the Young Democrats club. Over 800 high school students from across the country took their seats at the Ferst Center on Monday, October 14th to participate in opening ceremonies for the Sixteenth Annual Georgia Tech Model United Nations (GTMUN) conference. Annually, the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs sponsors a two-day Model United Nations (MUN) conference.
