Diplomacy Lab’s Wonk Tank competition for students

Wonk Tank One Pager
The Secretary of State’s Office of Global Partnerships in tandem with the Diplomacy Lab Secretariat at the University of Oklahoma has several exciting developments coming over the next couple of months. We welcome your participation in these opportunities to give your students and institutions insight into the Diplomacy Lab experience.

1.       Opening on December 15, 2015, Diplomacy Lab will be accepting policy pitch proposals from students around the country to participate in Wonk Tank, which is a platform for university students across the United States to showcase their ability to be America’s next great “policy wonk.” Four finalists will be flown to Washington, D.C. on March 11, 2016 to present their pitch before senior Department of State officials.

2.       The Department of State will be hosting the inaugural Diplomacy Lab Fair on March 11, 2016 on the same day as the final round of the Wonk Tank competition. The public will be invited to the “university marketplace” to talk with Department offices working through Diplomacy Lab and current Diplomacy Lab teams alike.

3.       Diplomacy Lab will be putting out a call for applications for American universities to become member institutions of the partnership following the March 2016 event to give more university faculty and students the opportunity to engage in the foreign policy making of the Department of State. More details to come in 2016.
