Model United Nations Team Recognized

The GT Competitive Model United Nations (GTCMUN) team competed in the 53rd annual Midwest Model United National Conference recently held in St. Louis, MO.  Model United National is an academic simulation of the United National that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda.

GTCMUN is comprised of students from the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, College of Engineering, Scheller College of Business and College of Computing.  The National Model United Nations Club represents the Georgia Institute of Technology at Model United Nations conferences nationally. Participating students will develop a better understanding of international affairs and interact with students from all over the world, thereby preparing them to be effective global leaders in the future.

The team at the Midwest Model United Nations Conference represented Kazakhstan and Yemen in the proceedings of four of the main committees of the United Nations General Assembly: Disarmament and International Security, Economic and Financial, Social, Humanitarian and Cultural, and Legal.
