SUMMER 2021 Young Professionals in Foreign Policy Y7 & Y20 Summits

The Young Professionals in Foreign Policy Fellowship is seeking delegates from the United States to attend the Y7 & Y20 Youth Summits. Both summits are week-long events that bring together young leaders from G7 and G20 countries, respectively, to debate global challenges and to develop policy solutions. Y7 Summit | Deadline January 17th, 2021 11:59pm EST

Hosted by the Future Leaders Network, this years summit will take place in May 2021, in London, England. Four American delegates, each representing one of the four priorities, will be selected for this opportunity. If the summit takes place in person, all in country accommodations, such as local transportation, lodging and meals, are provided by FLN, but delegates will be responsible for travel to and from London.

The priorities of the 2021 Y7 are as follows:
  • Climate
  • Technology
  • Global Economy
  • Health
American Delegate Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a U.S. passport
  • Age 22-30 as of May 2021
  • A university graduate, or student seeking a degree relevant to the above priorities. It is also recommended that the applicants have previous experience working or volunteering in global for and summits.

NOTE: Employees of the U.S. federal government are not eligible to apply.

Y7 Application Process
  • 1. 1-2 page Resume/CV
  • 2. Situational Statement – 500 words or less
  •  Short Responses – (100 words or less each)
  • Scanned copy of your passport page showing your photo, age, and citizenship status.

Y20 Summit | Deadline January 31, 2021 11:59pm EST

Hosted by the Young Ambassadors Society, the 2021 Y20 Summit will be held in July 2021, in Milan, Italy.  Three American delegates will be selected to represent each of the priorities. If the summit takes place in person, all in country accommodations will be provided by YAS, but delegates will be responsible for travel to and from Milan.

The priorities of the 2021 Y20 Summit are as follows:
  • Innovation/Future of Work/Digitization
  • Inclusion
  • Sustainability/Climate Change/Environment
American Delegate Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a U.S. passport
  • Age 22-30 as of May 2021
