March 15 Deadline for Central American Policy Studies at Tulane University

“The Stone Center for Latin American Studies announces an innovative new program on Central America to be offered at CIAPA (Centro de Investigación y Adiestramiento Político Administrativo) in Costa Rica (July 10, 2017-May 11, 2018). The intensive ten-month Latin American Studies M.A. program will provide students a unique opportunity to engage a range of global issues related to sustainable human development in democratic societies, including migration, health, environment, inequality, security, and violence prevention from a Central American perspective. The program is ideal for students pursuing careers in journalism, foundations, NGOs, multilateral organizations, and government, corporate, or humanitarian service, or who expect to pursue doctoral degrees.

The program combines graduate interdisciplinary seminars with practical applications that include in-country field experience led by Central American academics, policy makers, and civic actors who are engaged in the formation and critique of policy initiatives. The issue-oriented curriculum is designed to facilitate direct contacts with relevant Central American-based institutions and stakeholders.  Deadline for applications: March 15, 2017.”
