The Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS) is the world’s longest-running remote internship program. Created by the Department of State to connect students to the work of the U.S. government, the VSFS employs students to work fully remotely on unclassified projects. Interns will be provided a mentor at the department of state or another federal agency that they will work with over the course of the internship. Interns are required to work around 10 hours per week from September through May and are unpaid.
