2021 Virtual Student Federal Service Internships & Information Session

The Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS) is the world’s longest-running remote internship program. Created by the Department of State to connect students to the work of the U.S. government, the VSFS employs students to work fully remotely on unclassified projects. Interns will be provided a mentor at the department of state or another federal agency that they will work with over the course of the internship.  Interns are required to work around 10 hours per week from September through May and are unpaid.

Applications will open on July 1, 2021

Qualifications

  • U.S Citizen
  • High school graduate enrolled in a higher education program
      • Can be a part-time or full-time student
      • Can be undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate student

There will be three information sessions on the following dates:

  • July 2, 2021
  • July 9, 2021
  • July 16, 2021

All information sessions will take place via Google Meets and Facebook Live at 3:10 pm EST.
