The Office of the Director of Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation
within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD/CAPE) offers unique

CAPE provides independent analytic advice to the Secretary of Defense on
all aspects of Defense programs.  CAPE has significant impact on long-term
program development within the Department of Defense and provides a unique
opportunity to influence defense and public policy.  CAPE is part “think
tank,” part consulting firm, and part investigative agency.  Our employees
have the broad title of Operations Research Analyst, which reflects the
breadth of issues being considered within the Department of Defense on a
day-to-day basis.
