FALL 2021 House Oversight and Reform Committee Intern and Law Clerk

The minority staff of the Committee on Oversight and Reform is seeking interns and law clerks for the fall 2021 semester. Fall internships and clerkships typically begin ins August or September and run through mid-December with exact dates being determined on a case-by-case basis.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.

Internship

Interns will have the opportunity to work with the administrative, policy, and press teams by conducting research, assisting during hearings and markups, and other administrative tasks.  The internship is unpaid, but the committee is happy to work with the applicant to ensure that they receive class credit.  There is the opportunity for full- or part-time scheduling, those with availability at least 3 days a week will get priority.

Qualifications
  • Strong writers, organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to be discrete when working on confidential matters
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the committee’s work
  • Previous Hill experience is preferred

Law Clerk

Law clerks have the opportunity to work with the committee by conducting research, reviewing documents, and preparing for hearings and markups. This position is unpaid, but the committee is happy to work to provide class credit for this opportunity. The committee is willing to accept those with full – and part-time availability, but those with three or more days available will take priority.

  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the committee’s work
  • Detail-oriented and organized
