Why Intern with CEBA?
As an intern, you will gain professional skills and experience in a non-profit business association while working alongside our world-class team. You will have a birds-eye view of how system change can be accomplished and will grow to understand the daily tasks and activities that will get us there.

Interns learn about clean energy including how energy customers across all sectors, like Google, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, and Citi are shifting the energy system, while building professional skills across a wide range of topics within the clean energy space.

Internship Overview/Summary:
The Policy Innovation intern will work broadly across CEBA and CEBI’s portfolios with an emphasis on organized wholesale markets and transmission. The intern will support related working groups, such as CEBA’s Western Working Group, Southeast Working Group, and Transmission Working Group. This may involve conducting research to help large energy customers understand the evolving status of market or transmission development and creating written materials to help buyers advocate for solutions that drive decarbonization. The intern will primarily support CEBI projects by providing research and development of educational materials on topics such as resource adequacy, transmission expansion, or system flexibility.

Core Intern Responsibilities:
Tracking market development initiatives underway at the regional and state level, as well as actions taken by system operators and utilities
Researching wholesale market level issues and summarizing key findings
Synthesizing market developments into slides decks or email communications to educate buyers
Working with external partners to develop buyer outreach and driven member engagement
Driving the development of external-facing communications (e.g., factsheets, speaking points, webinars, blogs) to elevate the voice of large energy customers
Helping to prepare and deliver meetings and webinars with members by developing agendas, presentations, and related materials

Required Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Eligible to work in the U.S.

Strong interest in clean energy with base knowledge of energy markets
