Spring 2018 Research Internship, Caspian Policy Center – Washington, DC

CPC Research Internship
Caspian Policy Center (CPC) offers full and part-time internships in the fall, spring, and summer for undergraduates, recent graduates, and advanced students who are interested in gaining practical experience in a leading think tank focused on the Caspian region. The internship will expose the candidate to the researching and writing for publications and articles, strategic event planning, and contributing to strategic initiatives and projects within a research environment.

Qualifications:
Must be at least an undergraduate student in good standing, a graduate student, or a recent graduate.
Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent from a non-U.S. institution.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Must make a minimum commitment of 10 – 20 hours a week.
Must demonstrate proven interest in international affairs and the Caspian region.
Must demonstrate entrepreneurial attitude, flexibility, excellent attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability take initiative when needed.

Responsibilities:
The CPC research intern will work under the direct supervision of the Center’s senior fellows. Interns help maintain day to day operations and administrative functions, conduct research, compile indices, assist with publications or the editorial process, or produce other material. Interns may assist with analyzing scholarly articles, correspond with authors, fact check, copy edit, proofread, and generally help with the production of CPC publications, as well as perform general administrative duties throughout the Center. Interns will also assist with event/conference preparation, development, and research for various operations/administrative-related projects as they arise.

CPC accepts applications on a rolling basis until internships are filled, for durations of an academic year, a semester, a summer, or by agreement, for a shorter time. Our internships are unpaid; however, we do have limited stipends each semester based on demonstrated financial need. CPC will work with students who are interested in applying for external stipends or academic credit.
