World Wildlife Foundation Remote Internships

The World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) has worked for years to protect the natural world. As one of the world’s leading conservation organizations WWF, along with their partners and 5 million supporters, have combined cutting-edge conservation science and effective policy to enact change in over 100 countries.  WWF currently has a plethora of paid internship opportunities available for current undergraduate students.  Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, these opportunities are operating remotely from the United States.

All applicants must:

  • Be pursuing either an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree program in international relations or other related fields.
  • Have excellent research skills, and attention to detail
  • Be organized and self-motivated
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Identify and align with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Integrity, Respect & Collaboration
  • Have the right to work in the United States that does not require the sponsoring of a visa

WWF employs interns in all states with the exception of Alabama, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Research Intern, Global Human Rights Organizations

WWF realizes that to protect and conserve the natural world, first we must protect and conserve the people that live in it. This position calls for the intern to research and compile a database of organizations dedicated to the protection of human rights. WWF is especially interested in organizations that work in food sectors such as soy, palm oil, coffee, and chocolate production.  This opportunity can accommodate either a full-time (35 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week) availability.

Skills Required
  • Excellent research, writing, analytical skills, and attention to detail are obligatory;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Proactive problem-solving and good communicator (written and verbal) are obligatory;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Familiarity with database research such as Bloomberg terminal is helpful
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of foreign languages is a plus.

Research Intern, Environmental Degradation and Human Rights Supply Chain

This position will work with the Markets Institute at WWF. The Markets Institute works to identify global issues and trends regarding food supply and finite resources.  The responsibility of the intern will be to research the emerging connection between environmental degradation and issues with human rights abuses within the supply chain. The intern will also be asked to look into how global warming could exacerbate these issues.

Skills Required
  • Excellent research, writing, analytical skills, and attention to detail are obligatory;
    • Synthesis writing is key to this internship;
  • Proactive problem-solving and good communicator (written and verbal) are obligatory;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to collate a set of reference cases and draw larger lessons and conclusions from them;
