2022 Stanford Hoover Institution Summer Policy Boot Camp

Now in its sixth year, the Hoover Institution Summer Policy Boot Camp (HISPBC) covers the essential issues of today’s national and international public policy landscape, providing instruction to college students, recent graduates, and young professionals. HISPBC is known for its robust program on topics that are relevant to today’s policy challenges. Students focus on developing and applying critical reasoning skills to public policy formation. They also have a unique opportunity to interact with the faculty of Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, which comprises scholars in economics, government, political science, and related fields. This four-day public policy boot camp will take place August 14–18, 2022, on Stanford University’s campus. The program is free of charge to accepted participants (including lodging and meals), however, there is a $100 application fee, and attendees will be responsible for travel costs and incidentals.

The deadline to apply for this opportunity is March 4, 2022.

Successful participants receive a certificate of completion endorsed by Hoover Institution’s director and HISPBC’s faculty directors. To successfully complete the program, participants must:

  • Attend all sessions
  • Complete assignments and projects
  • Collaborate with their fellow participants in class discussions
