SUMMER 2022 Data Science for Social Good Fellowship

The University of Warwick has opened applications for the 2022 DSSGx UK summer projects program. The program will run over 12 weeks from June 6th to August 26th of this year, and the plan this year is to hold it face to face, at Warwick, Covid-19 permitting. This program gives aspiring data scientists the opportunity to refine their skills through intense training and hands-on experience through summer-long initiatives working with global non-profit organizations and government bodies. Fellows will receive a stipend of around $5,473.78 USD (£4000) as well as money to cover the cost of travel.

The deadline to apply for this opportunity is February 14, 2022, at 7:00 am EST (Noon GMT).

Qualifications

While the University of Warwick states that there is no true set of expectations, the following is true of the majority of accepted fellows:

  • Late-stage undergraduate students or graduate students, including Ph.D. students
  • Programming, statistics, and data analysis background are required of all applicants
      • Applicants are not required to have a degree in this subject area
  • Passion for social change

All this being said, the selection process is still highly competitive.
