The Language Café was formed to encourage friendships and conversation between American students and Language Institute students and to help English speakers and native speakers of other languages to share and connect. For those with a foreign language requirement, it is a great place to practice speaking the languages you are studying while allowing Language Institute students to practice their English. This is also a great service project for campus organizations and a practical way to learn greetings and important phrases from native speakers plus share your campus life experience with people from other cultures. Students meet weekly at the picnic tables in front of the O’Keefe building for small group discussions and snacks. We are located on the corner of 6th Street and Techwood Drive and our address is 151 6th Street. We meet on Fridays at 1:15 pm in front of the O’Keefe building and upstairs in case of rain. Our next two events will be November 22 and December 6. This Friday, will be the Taste of Culture. Please drop by and visit us.
