Shirin Ebadi is the founder of the Defenders of Human Right Center and is the recipient of the 2003 Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to advance democracy and human rights. An Iranian lawyer and former judge, she has focused on social justice for women and children, political prisoners, and refugees. Dr. Ebadi has lived in exile in the U.K. since 2009.

The program includes an interview with Dr. Ebadi regarding her work and advocacy for social justice and civil rights in Iran, often undertaken at great personal risk.
