The Pre-Teaching Program has joined with the neighboring school systems to create a shadow program for Tech students considering pursuing a career as a K-12 teacher. The program gives participants the chance to spend one day with a teacher who teaches a subject of interest. For example, a student hoping to teach Chemistry would shadow a Chemistry teacher. Participating students will spend one day at a high school, middle school or elementary school. Participants could possibly spend one day at each school but would not return to the same school. Students will be able to request a day to visit with two-three weeks advance notice. The Pre-Teaching advisor will be involved throughout the entire process and will coordinate the student and the school before and after the visitation. Participants can be undergraduate or graduate students. Register here.
