Emory Center for International and Comparative Law

International Speakers Series

On the topic of:

Constitutions, State Formations and Secularism

Featuring:

Prof. Carolyn Evans, University of Melbourne, Australia

“Constitutional Narrative and the Influence of International and Comparative
Law on Constitutional Adjudication: Australia and Malaysia”
4 p.m., Monday, March 23, Tull Auditorium, Gambrell Hall, Emory Law

Constitutions are, in part, a story that a country tells about itself. In this presentation, Prof. Evans will argue that we can have a richer, deeper insight into what interpretative decisions judges make and why they make them if we pay attention to the idea of constitutional narrative in judicial interpretations of the Constitution.

Each lecture in the speaker series is free and open to the public.
