Taiwan-America Student Conference (TASC) is a new student-run exchange between Taiwan and the U.S. During this two and a half week long professional student conference, students will develop skills as leaders, experience invigorating discussions, and forge life-long friendships. Students will travel through Taiwan to experience various cultural excursions, exchange ideas with Taiwanese peers, and conduct intimate discussions over modern world issues. This year we will be focusing on topics such as Taiwan-China-U.S. Relations, Diversity, Identity and Discrimination, and Modern Issues in Education.
American delegates will first convene for orientation at in Los Angeles, CA, then travel together to Taiwan and meet the Taiwanese delegation. The expedition will begin in Taipei, followed by Taichung and Tainan. Please note that students (undergraduate or graduate) from all fields of study are welcome; no background in Chinese studies or language is required. Applications are available online. To waiver the application fee, apply by February 23, 2014! The final deadline is March 16, 2014.
