AALAC Internship and Fellowship Opportunities

Are you looking for an academically challenging and socially dynamic position that helps change entire communities? AALAC is looking for students and recent graduates to apply for our Internships (for current students) and Fellowships (for recent graduates).

INTERNSHIPS

Tentative Duties: In line with our mission points, Interns or Fellows will assist with writing research memos and educational pieces on different laws and public policies.

Interns and Fellows will also participate in voter registration drives and other community outreach efforts to engage Asian Americans in the political process through voting and other public service. Finally, Interns and Fellows will be expected to attend some community events and meetings and serve as an ambassador for AALAC.

Objectives: To produce critical research and educational pieces on local and regional issues that protect the civil, social and economic rights of Asians, Pacific Islanders, and Asian-ethnic refugees (“Asian Americans”) in Georgia and the South. To build power for good by engaging Asian American citizens to vote, and organizing community members to speak out on important local issues. To unite diverse Asian Americans around the cause of social justice.

When: Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer. Must be able to commit 18 hours a week for a minimum of 8 weeks. Must be willing to work flexible hours, have a positive attitude, and have reliable transportation. Course credits for internships are preferred. These are currently volunteer positions but with greater funding may become partially paid positions.
