SUMMARY OF POSITION
IREX seeks a qualified professional to fill the position of Communications Officer for the Assistance to Russian Orphans Program, based in Moscow, Russia. The Communications Officer will develop external communication materials for both programs as well as provide assistance with editing key documents. IREX seeks a candidate with reporting, communications, and editing experience. The position will be based in Moscow, Russia and requires fluent English and Russian language skills.

The Communications Officer will:
·Develop all communications materials, success stories and news updates for the Assistance to Russian Orphans program;
·Liaise with program staff to collect, summarize and present information on program activities;
·Create the monthly Assistance to Russian Orphans newsletter for local and international stakeholders;
·Edit donor reports and all external communications to ensure clarity and professional language;
·Assist with translation of documents when necessary;
·Perform other tasks as designated by the Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be well organized, able to work independently and manage multiple tasks, able to meet deadlines and have excellent communications skills. Other qualifications should include at a minimum:
·1-2 years experience in reporting, communications and editing;
·Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to communicate with local staff to  produce quality communication materials highlighting program successes;
·Experience working and living in Russia;
·Fluency in English and Russian are required.

Desk Officer – International Affairs Office

Connected Group (www.connectedgroup.com)has been retained to conduct this search on behalf of a client.  They are currently searching for qualified and experienced Desk Officer’s for placement within their client’s International Affairs Office.

The ideal candidate will possess a Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences (Political Science, International Development, International Affairs etc.) or Bachelors Degree in case of extensive relevant professional experience.
Candidates will possess a minimum of two years experience in a similar position with an Education Institutions, International Organization, NGO or Think Tank. Demonstrable experience in Project Management. Candidates must possess very good reporting and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work under administrative and programmatic pressure.

There are 4 roles covering the following regions:

The Americas – the role covers North and South America. Candidates MUST have been in a role covering International Affairs in these regions. Candidates need to be bi-lingual (English / Spanish) for this role, and must possess strong relevant contacts throughout the region.

Africa – The role covers the entire African Continent. The ideal candidate will be African, and will be able to display knowledge and experience, as well as contact in the International Affairs arena across Africa.

SE Asia / Australia / NZ – Once again candidates will hail from this region, and will have a solid understanding of International Affairs within these areas.

Middle East – Candidates will be highly familiar with the region, will possess Arabic language skills, and will be able to focus on creating and continuing strategic partnerships within the region.

The ideal candidates will ideally have spent a large amount of time in the geographical region that they are covering, they will possess the necessary cultural awareness as well as the language skills required, and will have a high level of understanding of the past and current issues from an International Affairs standpoint. They will also understand any factors that would influence relations between these regions and the UAE.
