You should consider applying to be part of this summer’s FASET or Wreck Camp staff and help the incoming class. We are searching for students who are passionate about empowering incoming students to be engaged members of the community.

FASET Leader Responsibilities and Qualifications
FASET is our new student orientation program for all incoming students. The primary role of a FASET leader is to provide guidance to incoming students and assist in the facilitation of Summer Orientation events and activities. Leaders will welcome new students, share their Tech expertise and advice, participate in the logistics of orientation events, assist students with registration, facilitate group discussions, and answer questions from students and parents.
The minimum expectations and responsibilities for FASET Leaders include, but are not limited to:
- Attending and actively participating in the OL training program.
- Working as a team with other FASET Leaders, FASET Cabinet, NSTP Professional Staff, and any GT staff and faculty.
- Participating and assisting with the organization, planning, and implementation of orientation activities throughout the summer.
- Facilitating group discussions over issues that new students and families may face during their transition to college
- Responding to student, parent and guest questions.
- If a student is chosen to return to the FASET Leader staff, they are also expected to provide guidance and share previous experiences with new FASET Leaders, lead a FASET Cabinet sub-committee that will be advised by a committee of Cabinet, and assist their Cab Team Leader with the mentoring and group building of their respective Cab Teams.
The minimum qualifications for FASET Leaders include:
- Good academic standing, with a required cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above
- Good judicial standing with no outstanding judicial sanctions
- Will be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Georgia Tech at least one additional semester following the summer they are a staff member
- Understand and support the purpose of NSTP, FASET, and the mission of GT
- Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, responsible, flexible, and willing to help
- Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of team members, students, guests, GT faculty and staff.
- Demonstrate a desire to learn about Tech and help others learn about GT and how to be a successful student
- Demonstrate pride of Georgia Tech and the willingness to share said pride with incoming students and families
- Must be present and on time for all training sessions, pre-sessions, and FASET Leader training sessions (unless cleared by NSTP Professional Staff)

Wreck Camp Staff Responsibilities and Qualifications
Wreck Camp is an extended orientation program for incoming students. At Wreck Camp, new students are led by a current GT student through a series of activities that are meant to help the student learn about themselves and create lasting friendships before they come to school. (Don’t worry! We also play plenty of fun and exciting games, too!)
The minimum expectations and responsibilities for staff members include, but are not limited to:
- Attending and actively participating in training.
- Working as a team with other Wreck Camp staff members, FASET Directors, NSTP Professional Staff, and any GT staff and faculty.
- Participating and assisting with the organization, planning, and implementation of Wreck Camp throughout the summer.
- Facilitating group discussions over issues that new students may face during their transition to college.
- Attending additional meetings to assist with the planning of Wreck Camp during the summer.
- If a student is chosen to return to the Wreck Camp staff, they are also expected to provide guidance and share previous experiences with new staff members, lead a sub-committee that will be advised by the Directors, and assist with the mentoring and group building of their respective Color Teams.
The minimum qualifications for Wreck Camp staff members include:
- Good academic standing, with a required cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above
- Good judicial standing with no outstanding judicial sanctions
- Will be enrolled as an undergraduate student at Georgia Tech at least one additional semester following the summer they are a Wreck Camp staff member
- Understand and support the purpose of the New Student & Transition Programs office, Wreck Camp, and the mission of Georgia Tech
- Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, responsible, flexible, and willing to help
- Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of team members, students, GT faculty, and staff.
- Demonstrate a desire to learn about Georgia Tech and help others learn about GT and how to be a successful Georgia Tech student
- Demonstrate pride in Georgia Tech and the willingness to share said pride with incoming students and families
- Wreck Camp staff member socials will be held throughout the summer and are optional.
- Must be present and on time for all training sessions, workdays, and Wreck Camp sessions (unless cleared by NSTP Professional Staff)
