One-Time Volunteer Opportunities

Two Drivers Needed for the First Farm Meeting of the Year
SAT 4/3, 10:00AM-3:00pm
This first meeting is a gathering of the 22 Burundi women who have initially committed to the farm project. They will get a chance to see the property for the first time, discuss and plan how they want to organize themselves, and do some preliminary work to get the land ready. They have been waiting for more than a year for this moment, and are very, very excited!

Two drivers are needed to make a run to the apartment complexes for pick up before the meeting, and drop off after. We’ll all meet at the “Old Plantation” Apartments (yes, it’s really called that!) and do pick-up from there, at around 10-11 to be at the farm by noon until around 3pm.

Volunteer with Youth Leaders
Thurs 4/8, Fri 4/9, 10:00AM-3:00pm
On April 5-9, the RFS Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will be meeting for a week of leadership development and service learning activities.  The YAB is a group of highly motivated and accomplished students in grades 5-8 who have been recognized as leaders in the refugee youth community.  These students will spend their spring break planning a service project for Global Youth Service Day on April 24th.

RFS is looking for 3-4 energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to help run activities and provide support on April 8-9 from 10am-3pm.  Volunteer for one day or stay for several!

This is a great opportunity to meet some exceptional students and help them make a difference in the community.

If you would like to help out, email Laretia at rfsvolunteers@refugeefamilyservices.org or call at (404) 299-6217 ext 239.  Thank you so much for your continued support of RFS and refugees in the metro-Atlanta area!
