The Learning Agency is hosting a virtual workshop for all undergraduates interested in learning about virtual data mining and engineering.
This workshop will take place virtually on June 29, 2021, from 9 am-4:30 pm ET.
This workshop will focus on undergraduates who are doing work in educational data mining. A mix of panel discussions and talks, and small group discussions will surface two key areas:
- Recent work by undergraduates and their advisors. This will include a peer-reviewed paper submission process and undergraduates will present their papers at the event.
- Discussions on how to build a pipeline of talent into the learning engineering and EDM field, that focus on the voices of the undergraduates themselves. This includes a focus on recruiting undergraduate students into EDM, and how to create supportive networks that will increase retention in this area.
In addition to bringing speakers across verticals and issue areas, the talks and small group conversations in this workshop will be designed for a diverse audience–from researchers to industry professionals, to teachers and students. This interdisciplinary approach promises to generate new connections, high-potential partnerships, and inspire novel applications. The event will also allow students to submit and present their papers.
