Enterprise to Empower 2010 is a conference on social entrepreneurship and enterprise featuring keynote speakers, seminars, panels, and several participatory sessions that will allow learning, networking, and skill-building.  Enterprise to Empower aims to:

  • Inform the Atlanta community on topics pertaining to social enterprise
  • Enable Atlantans to find social venture opportunities
  • Realize the creation of social ventures today by bringing together current innovators and investors to catalyze progress

Paul Sansone: Originally from Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, Mr. Sansone graduated from Saint Francis University of Pennsylvania with dual Bachelor of Science degrees conferred from the Honors Program in Accounting and Economics. Paul earned his MBA degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Mr. Sansone has been selected to both local and national leadership development programs, and is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Gwinnett, a program for outstanding civic and professional leaders of Gwinnett County, Georgia. Mr. Sansone is also a Certified Public Accountant (Georgia) and a Certified Management Accountant.  Sansone comes to Better World Books with over 20 years of diversified finance and management experience.

Cindy Cheatham: Ms. Cheatham is a leader in the Atlanta entrepreneurial community. Most recently, Ms. Cheatham was Venture Catalyst and Director of Business Development at the Advanced Technology Development Center (www.ATDC.org) where she helped Georgia entrepreneurs launch and build successful companies. Ms. Cheatham is a frequent speaker to entrepreneurs and has led award-winning entrepreneurial programs. Ms. Cheatham is a co-founder of StartupChicks (www.startupchicks.net). She was a nominee for WIT’s Woman of the Year in Technology and was selected to participate in the 2010 class of Leadership Atlanta. Prior to working for ATDC, Cindy was Director of Business Development for ATDC graduate company, Blue Rock, Inc.. Ms. Cheatham is also a former management consultant for Bain & Company and a financial analyst with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

A.B. Short: A.B. Short has served as CEO of MedShare since 1998, when he co-founded the non-profit organization in Decatur, Georgia. Under his guidance, MedShare has evolved into one of the leading medical supply recovery organizations in the United States. To date, MedShare has donated over $60 million worth of medical supplies and equipment to economically developing countries around the world.  Short has a B.A. and a Master’s in Sociology from Mississippi College and a Master’s of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He resides in Decatur, Georgia, with his wife, Ann Connor (Assistant Professor of Nursing at Emory University) and their daughter, Egan.  His son, Justin, and daughter-in-law, Jessica, reside in Bozeman, Montana.
