The ICD´s program “The United States Meets Europe: A Forum for Young Leaders” is currently accepting applications for the seminar.
The United States Meets Europe: A Forum for Young Leaders is an active network of individuals interested in strengthening and supporting transatlantic relations. The next USAME Weeklong Seminar will take place in New York City & Washington DC from 18th – 24th April 2010. In addition to looking in greater detail at the history and development of cultural diplomacy, the next USAME Weeklong Seminar will look at how the priorities of U.S. foreign policy have changed since the end of the Cold War and are continuing to evolve. This will provide a framework for discussions on contemporary transatlantic relations, and for comparing and contrasting foreign policy priorities in the U.S. and Europe.

- Prof. Dr. Cynthia Schneider, Former Ambassador of the United States to the Netherlands, Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at Georgetown University (Washington DC).
- Jim Kolbe, Former Member of the US House of Representatives, Senior Transatlantic Fellow for the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
- Dr. Karen Donfried, Vice-President of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
- Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Florida.
- Mark Donfried, Director and Founder of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (Berlin).
- Mark Palmer, Former US Ambassador to Hungary, Co-founder of the National Endowment for Democracy.
- Paula Dobriansky, Former Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs, Senior Fellow at the JFK School of Government, Harvard University.
- Parag Khanna, Director of the Global Governance Initiative at the New America Foundation.
- Prof. Dr. Volker Berghahn, Professor of European-American Relations at Colombia University (NYC).
