Political Coordinator

The Technology Network, Inc. (TechNet) seeks a Political Coordinator. TechNet is a bipartisan network of CEOs that promotes the growth of technology industries and the economy by building long-term relationships between technology leaders and policymakers and advocating a targeted policy agenda. TechNet offices are located in Washington, D.C., California, New England, Texas and the Pacific Northwest.

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Fundraising for individual candidates, committees, and for TechNet’s state and federal political action committees. Travel to and groundwork for fundraising events to be held in all TechNet regional offices.
– Securing sponsorships for national TechNet events and conferences
– Large and small scale political event planning and follow-up
– Regular communication and interaction with TechNet’s members, including timely responsiveness to and completion of TechNet member requests
– Assist in the development of strategic plans around policy issues including policy briefings and events targeting the technology sector
– Conducting short- and long-term political research projects

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have:
– Exceptional fundraising skills and knowledge of PAC organization and solicitation
– 2 – 5 years experience with elected officials on the federal and/or state level a plus
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Strong organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team
– Ability to handle multiple tasks
– Strong interpersonal skills
– Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Study Abroad Coordinator
Georgia State University, Office of International Affairs, Study Abroad Programs

The Study Abroad Coordinator assists the Assistant Director and Director with the operation and services of the Study Abroad Programs office, including student advisement, outreach, and scholarship processing. Primary responsibilities include:

– Oversees all study abroad advising for the office
– Provides regular advising to students
– Administers the Georgia State International Education Fee (IEF) Scholarship/Foundation Scholarship competition twice a year, as well as national scholarship programs such as NSEP and Gilman
– Coordinates the Georgia State IEF service requirement program
– Coordinates the annual study abroad fair
– Investigates and resolves ongoing student issues before, during and after study abroad
– Coordinates the annual photo competition and award ceremony
– Other projects as assigned by the Director

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s degree
– Study abroad experience
– Experience working as an advisor in a study abroad office
– Experience with study abroad programmatic and outreach efforts
– Proficiency in a second language

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Assistant will assist in the logistical coordination of a variety of BSR’s consulting and training projects. Emphasizing team collaboration, writing, and logistical implementation, the Assistant strengthens the entire team while learning key skills to increase personal responsibility in the future. The position will report to the CTI Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Logistical Support
– Take ownership for all logistical preparation for all relate training and consulting work.
– Travel to project and training sites on training days at venues around China when needed.
– Work with management to address client needs.
– Work on project and training reports and help with translation when necessary.
